The title track sets
the tone for a fine project featuring a soothing voice
filled with honesty and emotion. Williams takes the lead
vocal on 10 of 14 selections. She is at her best on two
Lynn Morris covers, "Don't Tell Me Stories," and
"Love Grown Cold." Her husband, Johnny, the
band's guitarist, assumes lead on an uptempo "What
You Gonna Do," an excellent gospel trio, "Stormy
Waters," and a song he wrote, "Mountain Way of
Life," as a tribute to his "good, honest,
hard-working" father.
The most powerful
tune is the heart breaking waltz "I Ought to Know
You," a poignant story about a mother who no longer
recognizes her child because of Alzheimer's. Other
favorite selections include "Things I Wish I'd
Said," a profound song Jeanette wrote after losing
her father to cancer, and a swinging gospel duet,
"Feeling Mighty Fine."
