"In 1994, I wrote Last Day of Galax as a reflection of spending a week at the Galax Fiddler's Convention. Over the years several people requested that I record this song so finally I decided it was time. Some of these are my original songs that were written years ago along with a couple of new song. They have never been record before. Being able to co-write with the legendary Tom T. and Dixie Hall was truly a blessing for me. This project showcases the talents of some of the area's finest pickers and singers. In addition to their musical talents, all of these performers are rich in character and add so much to the world of music! My many thanks to Jeanette Williams, Amber Collins, Debbie Yates, Kathleen O'Connell, Tony Mabe, Chase Johner, Billy Hawks and Kenneth Berrier. Also Wesley Easter for engineering and producing, John Lohman with the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities for his assistance and Clyde Bailey for the use of his 1937 00018 Martin Guitar."
